As part of its “Mission Monday” project, Altar’d State, a women’s clothing store in Grand Boulevard, gave $12,835 to the Destin’s Parks Foundation on August 1st.
“This is what community looks like: Neighbors and local businesses investing together,” said Sandy Trammell, of the park’s foundation, in an email.
“Every dollar will stay in Destin to improve our parks for people who live, work, play and visit. We are grateful for businesses that are also good corporate citizens,” Trammell said.
Every Monday at Altar’d State is Mission Monday. On Mondays, 10 percent of all sales go directly to a nonprofit. At the end of three months, they donate the money collected.
Altar’d State’s Mission Monday for the spring was geared toward sports. This quarter, the Destin Parks Foundation was the recipient.
“Partnerships turn good ideas into projects you can actually use,” Trammell said.
“Parks are essential infrastructure in the life of a community,” Trammell said.
